Mors Fabulae Lactum
The large-scale collage series Mors Fabulae Lactum (2004-2005) concentrates on representations of familial relationships.
The series utilises family photographs in combination with existing images from art, media, propaganda materials, and so forth. By superimposing my own face onto all female subjects, I become – simultaneously – mother and child, grandmother and baby; the mother of all mothers, the [female] child of all [female] children. Mounted onto aluminium, the body of work was exhibited in 2005 and was my first investigation into family photographs, memory and representation.
